After 12 years, a romantic New Year’s Eve proposal in Prague and two cancelled wedding dates, teen sweethearts Amy and Dan were finally able to tie the knot this spring. “My mam bought me my dress after we booked our original wedding date roughly four years ago!” says Amy of her luminous satin ballgown, before adding: “Two years on and I love it just as much, If not even more!”
THE VENUE
The couple’s choice of venue remained a constant through their extended engagement: Northumberland’s Woodhill, a sumptuous rural estate across 100 verdant acres set amid forested countryside. Struck by the manor’s selection of enchanting spaces that fit each stage of their envisaged dream day, these lovers were immediately smitten by its versatility and privacy.

#BELLELOVES Guest of honour (and very good boy) Milo – the couple’s super-cute pup – looked very dapper in his tuxedo neckerchief.
When it came to décor, the pair opted to complement Woodhill Hall’s exquisite vistas with a natural theme of green leaves, wooden features and a rich selection of white and cream flowers: a choice which worked for every room of the venue, and was complemented by other creative decisions, such as the bridesmaids’ sophisticated lilac maxi dresses and The Ivory Cake Company’s iridescent four-tier confection.
Dan wore a Burton three-piece tuxedo suit.
And their celebration really made the most of the Otterburn beauty spot, with vows taking place in the Santorini chapel-alike Olive House, followed by a drinks’ reception in the Elephant Courtyard, before the wedding breakfast in the airy, light-filled Orangery. And to kick off the evening reception, spellbound guests were ushered into the tipi to party the night away to wedding party band The Overthinkers’ live set and DJ playlist. “For our first dance, we opted for an upbeat version of Coldplay’s Sky Full of Starsby Hardwell,” Amy smiles at the memory. “We wanted to get all of our guests involved and on the dance floor. Even Milo joined in!”
